It’s difficult to remember what superiors or subordinates tell you (marching orders, or things you need to know about the game to improve them) on ADHD. For me personally, remembering anything when I’m not on my stimulants is incredibly challenging, sometimes impossible. I can forget something you just told me 20 seconds ago while you’re still talking to me.

What Gaming Means To Me

Gaming in general is incredibly mentally stimulating, so it replaces the missing stimulants in an ADHD brain. The “compulsion loop” (levelling up) also provides a lot of positive feedback which makes ADHD sufferers feel rewarded and further stimulates the brain. ADHD sufferers often feel bored and understimulated, and gaming definitely “fixes” that temporarily.

Prescribed stimulants completely negate (or almost completely) negate the impact of ADHD.
