I’ve struggled with depression, mania, and anxiety since grade 6. I was hospitalized once as a teenager but have received no long-term treatment as my family are biased against psychology and mental health care. I make very little money and have not been able to afford health insurance or mental health care services since becoming semi-independent.

What Gaming Means To Me

Repetitive tasks are often soothing. Figuring out puzzles or strategies is practice and exercise for the brain when things are fuzzy or muddled. Escapism is probably not something I overtly look for in games, but they often remind me that there is greater meaning in life than my immediate situation
